Swayful Quilt Class is currently in progress.

We’re creating this class together, adding new lessons each week as we move through the project. You can join at any time and follow along as we build and finish the quilt top step-by-step. Lessons begin June 29 and will continue until the class is complete.

A Quilt Full of Movement

Swayful began with a simple idea: playing with the look of a knot. As the blocks rotate and connect, the design begins linking from block to block, creating movement across the quilt top. The quilt is made from repeated units and simple snowball construction, making it approachable to sew while still creating a design that feels dynamic and interesting. One of my favorite parts of Swayful is the border. Rather than feeling separate from the quilt, it continues the movement all the way to the edges and helps frame the design beautifully.

Meet Your Instructor

Quilt Pattern Designer & Instructor Melanie Traylor

Hi, I'm Melanie Traylor, the quilt pattern designer behind Southern Charm Quilts and the instructor here at Quilty Class. I believe quilting should be enjoyable, approachable, and something you look forward to making time for. Whether you're stitching your very first quilt or you've been quilting for years, my goal is to help you build confidence and enjoy the process every step of the way. Inside Quilty Class, you'll find beginner-friendly patterns, detailed video lessons, quilt-alongs, and a welcoming community of quilters making projects right alongside you. I love teaching techniques in a clear, encouraging way and helping quilters turn fabric into something beautiful. When I'm not designing patterns or filming classes, you'll usually find me in my quilt room playing with fabric, working on a new quilt, or dreaming up the next project for us to make together.
