What You’ll Make

In this class, you’ll make the Soulshine Quilt, a playful star quilt made with two simple blocks. You can choose between a scrappy version using fat quarters for the foreground or a modern version using a small set of coordinated fabrics. Both options are fully supported in the class. Soulshine can be made in three sizes: 60" × 60", 60" × 72", or 72" × 84".

Is This Class Right for You?

This class is a great fit if you:

  • Are new to quilting and want a clear, supportive project

  • Want to build confidence with flying geese and block construction

  • Like learning at your own pace without a strict schedule

  • Want to quilt the foreground and background differently for added texture

  • Enjoy both scrappy and modern quilt styles

What You’ll Need

To get started with the Soulshine Quilt Class, you’ll need a copy of the Soulshine Quilt Pattern and basic quilting supplies. This quilt can be made in either a scrappy version using fat quarters for the foreground or a modern version using yardage. Fabric requirements, quilt sizes, and cutting information are all listed on the back of the pattern, as shown.

What You’ll Learn

In the Soulshine Quilt Class, you’ll learn how to:

  • Prepare and organize fabrics for a multi-block quilt

  • Choose between scrappy and modern fabric layouts

  • Make accurate flying geese units and assemble star blocks

  • Organize blocks efficiently to keep sewing stress-free

  • Lay out a quilt top for balanced color and movement

  • Quilt the foreground and background with intention

  • Finish a quilt that feels personal and polished

How the Class Works

This class is broken into clear, easy-to-follow chapters that guide you through the process step by step. You’ll start with fabric prep and organization, move into block construction, then finish with layout and quilting lessons. You can move through the lessons at your own pace and batch blocks in whatever way works best for you.
